Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 31, 2026
CR-CIPI respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you have under Costa Rica's Law No. 8968 on the Protection of Individuals with Regard to the Processing of their Personal Data and its regulations.
1. Who is responsible
The CR-CIPI initiative (Costa Rica Chamber of International Private Investment) is responsible for the database described here. Contact: info@crcipi.org.
2. Data we collect
Volunteer and membership form: name, email, phone, company, profession, LinkedIn, areas of expertise and the reasons you share.
Member accounts: email, name and the business listings you publish.
Business verification: legal name, legal ID, legal representative, year founded, headcount, licenses and the documents you upload.
Job applications: name, email, phone, LinkedIn, message and CV, which are sent to the employer you apply to.
Reviews and articles: your name, verified email and the content you submit.
Technical data: IP address for rate limiting and security, and aggregate page counts. We do not use advertising cookies.
3. Why we use it
To run the initiative and its committees, operate member accounts, verify businesses before showing a Verified badge, deliver job applications to employers, moderate public content, send the emails you request, and protect the platform from abuse.
Articles are screened by an automated AI reviewer for relevance and neutrality. A human editor reviews any article the system rejects or cannot decide on.
4. Who receives it
Employers receive the applications you send them. Verification documents are seen only by authorized CR-CIPI reviewers. We use service providers to host data (Google Firebase), send email and run the AI review; they process data only on our instructions. We never sell personal data.
5. How long we keep it
We keep data while your account or listing is active and for as long as needed to meet legal obligations. You can delete your businesses and job posts from your dashboard at any time.
6. Your rights
You can access, rectify, update or delete your data and withdraw consent at any time by writing to info@crcipi.org. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may contact the Agencia de Protección de Datos de los Habitantes (PRODHAB).
7. Security
Login codes are stored hashed, documents are stored privately and opened only through links that expire within minutes, and administrator access is limited by role-based permissions.
