Our 8 initiatives

Eight initiatives, one shared purpose

High-Reputation Member Network

CR-CIPI is building a trusted network of professionals and companies committed to high standards of service, transparency and ethical business practices. Our members may include attorneys, immigration professionals, accountants, banks, real estate companies, developers, relocation companies, insurers, healthcare providers, investment professionals and other organizations serving international clients.

Example

A real estate professional helping an international buyer may need a trusted attorney, bank, insurance provider or relocation company. CR-CIPI makes those professional connections easier and more reliable.

Member valueReputation, credibility, trusted referrals and professional visibility.

Networking & Business Opportunities

CR-CIPI creates opportunities for members to develop relationships that can lead to real collaboration and new business. Activities may include member meetings, business breakfasts, private roundtables, online networking sessions, working committees, industry events and member-to-member introductions.

Example

A relocation company may meet an immigration attorney, realtor and insurance provider through CR-CIPI and create a coordinated service network for future clients.

Member valueNetworking that produces opportunities, not just introductions.

Collaborative Marketing & Cross-Promotion

Working together gives our members a stronger international presence. CR-CIPI will develop campaigns that promote Costa Rica as a destination, CR-CIPI as a trusted organization, and our members and their professional services. Campaigns may include digital advertising, social media, educational videos, member interviews, international webinars, media outreach, joint articles, international events and member directories.

Example

Instead of five companies independently marketing to potential retirees in Florida, CR-CIPI can coordinate one Costa Rica campaign featuring multiple trusted member companies.

Member valueGreater exposure, shared marketing costs and access to international audiences.

Client Seminars & Educational Events

International clients often need information from several professionals before deciding to move or invest. CR-CIPI will bring those experts together. Potential seminars include How to Live & Invest in Costa Rica, Retiring in Costa Rica, Buying Property in Costa Rica and Starting a Business in Costa Rica. These seminars may be offered online, in Costa Rica or internationally.

Example

A single seminar can walk a prospective client through residency, real estate, taxation, banking and relocation in one trusted setting.

Member valueAn opportunity to demonstrate expertise directly to potential clients.

Practical Guides for Clients

CR-CIPI will develop practical educational resources to help international clients understand Costa Rica before making important financial decisions. Potential guides include Investing in Costa Rica, Retiring in Costa Rica, Buying Property in Costa Rica, Residency & Immigration, Banking & Taxes, Starting a Business, Healthcare & Insurance and Moving to Costa Rica.

Example

A potential retiree may receive one guide covering residency, banking, housing, insurance, healthcare, taxes and relocation, then connect with qualified CR-CIPI members in each area.

Member valuePosition members as the trusted experts clients turn to first.

International Promotion of Costa Rica

Costa Rica has successfully attracted tourism and multinational investment for decades. CR-CIPI believes the country has another major opportunity: attracting individuals and families with private capital. This includes retirees, entrepreneurs, property investors, business owners, independent investors, international families and high-net-worth individuals.

Example

CR-CIPI could organize a Costa Rica Investment & Retirement Seminar in Florida, Texas or Canada featuring several member companies under one unified Costa Rica message.

Member valueA coordinated international presence no single firm could build alone.

Better Laws & Public Policy

Marketing alone will not attract more investment. Costa Rica must also remain competitive, efficient and legally secure. CR-CIPI will identify barriers affecting international private investors and develop practical recommendations for government institutions and legislators. One of our first areas of focus will be the framework created by Law 9996 for investors, rentistas and pensioners.

Example

Work may include simplifying investor residency, reducing administrative delays, improving legal certainty and investor protection, and encouraging investment outside the GAM.

Member valueA collective voice on the issues that shape the investment environment.

Measure the Economic Impact

Costa Rica has extensive information about multinational foreign investment, but the long-term economic contribution of international individuals and families is much less visible. CR-CIPI wants to help measure it. We want to consolidate data related to real estate, construction, business formation, employment, professional services, healthcare, insurance, transportation, tourism, local consumption, tax contributions and regional investment.

Example

One international family may purchase a home, hire attorneys and accountants, buy insurance, use private healthcare, hire employees, spend locally and continue investing for decades.

Member valueReliable data that demonstrates the value of this sector and supports future policy.

One shared purpose

Costa Rica should compete for people, families and private capital

Costa Rica has spent decades competing successfully for multinational investment. We believe Costa Rica should also compete for another valuable form of international investment: people, families, entrepreneurs, retirees, investors and private capital.

When an international family chooses Costa Rica, they do more than purchase property. They hire professionals, support businesses, create employment, consume locally, invest, pay taxes and become part of communities. Many continue contributing to Costa Rica for decades.

CR-CIPI exists to build the professional network, international visibility, information and public policy necessary to attract more of this investment.
